Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2017-0561-R 1, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Mark Westerburg, representing Willits Unified School District. The project fells and trims riparian trees and vegetation for public safety and fire safety along a section of Mill Creek. Vegetation removal will be by hand tools only and will seek to minimize disturbance to Mill Creek and limit vegetation removal to the extent feasible. Cut vegetation and trees will be left on site as feasible for wildlife habitat and erosion control.

The project removes or limbs trees and trims vegetation for the purposes of fire safety and hazard abatement. There would be no significant adverse impact on endangered, rare or threatened species or their habitat pursuant to section 15065. The project is a minor alteration to land, water, and vegetation. It does remove some mature trees for forestry and fire protection purposes.
