Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15314, Minor Additions to Schools
Reasons for Exemption
The proposed improvements to the existing MVHS facilities are minor and would occur within the boundary of the existing Monta Vista High School campus. The project does not propose new classrooms. Therefore, the proposed project would not increase original student capacity by more than 25 percent or ten classrooms. Per section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines, it has been determined that the project is not located on a hazardous waste site and would not result in a significant impact due to unusual circumstances, damage scenic resources, affect an historic resource, or result in a cumulative impact. For these reasons and those stated above, the project is exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
