Document Description
The purpose of this project is to install a more resilient guardrail barrier on the connector ramp from westbound State Route 180 to northbound State Route 41. The need is to decrease maintenance workers exposure to traffic when conducting repairs on the state highway and reducing the number of vehicle collisions (Traffic Accident and Surveillance and Analysis System report July 1, 2012-June 30, 2015). The project would remove 900-feet of metal beam guardrail and replace it with 900-feet of Type 60 concrete barrier along both sides of the two-lane connector ramp. There will be cast-in-drilled-hole concrete piles (16"X9') installed under the concrete barrier.
