Document Description
The Project will conduct geotechnical evaluations adjacent to two stream crossings at Scotch Creek and Camp Creek for proposed future road crossing upgrades and culvert installation. Both sites will be marked for U.S.A. Digs prior to drilling. Any vegetation will be trimmed to create an approximately eight-foot-wide access corridor to the drill pads. Next, straw will be placed along approximately 250 linear feet of the access corridor to reduce impacts to native soils and potential sediment mobilization. Once the geotechnical drilling is complete, the borings will be properly abandoned, the excess drill cuttings will be removed and haul off, the access corridor will be graded as needed, and sediment control BMPs will be deployed. The Project has incorporated avoidance and minimization measures into the design. The stream bed and channel will not be disturbed; dust, excess materials, debris, and trash shall be controlled on-site and/or removed, and vis-queen will be placed under the drill rig to contain any lubricant spills. Project construction will occur between February 10 and April 4, 2020.
