Document Description
Install seven (7) new interpretative panels at Calaveras Big Trees State Park to provide better interpretive information about the cultural and natural resources of the park to park visitors. For each new sign, work will excavate two (2) 2'W x 2'0 holes, install new support posts, fill and compact each hole with sand or base rock to grade, and attach a new interpretive panel to the posts. Additionally, some of the old interpretive panels will be removed and new, updated interpretive panels will be installed to existing support posts.

Project consists of the minor alteration of existing public or private structures or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels; the construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures, included as "installation of park facilities, such as interpretive signing or panels" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR § 15300.4; and the minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry purposes.
