Document Description
Upgrade the existing USGS seismic monitoring equipment at Montana de Oro State Park for the "ShakeAlert" statewide earthquake early warning system. USGS employees will complete the following work:
• Remove the existing solar panel, antenna, support post and two (2) existing 16-inch
diameter culverts;
• Clear and level a 35-foot long by 5-foot wide area and excavate up to 0.5 cubic yards soil for new concrete pads and conduit;
• Install two (2) 6-inch thick concrete pads; and
• Install up to four (4) 2 foot x 4 foot solar panels; two (2) 2 foot x 2 foot x 3 foot metal boxes to house sensors, a battery and radio; and a 25 foot long conduit.

This project consists of replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; and minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry and agricultural purposes.
