The acquisition of the 1,440-acre Caliente Creek property is exempt under both Sec. 15313 and Sec. 15325. Acquisition would preserve existing natural conditions and protect meaningful habitat for wildlife. The property is specifically included in the CA Dept. of Fish and Wildlife's Canebrake Conceptual Area Protection Plan due to its Important natural resources and habitats, and benefits to surrounding conservation lands.
