Document Description
The Central Valley RWQCB plans to address the closure of CKD-3 by re-grading the site to install a low-permeability cover, installing a leachate collection and removal system, and developing a surface water drainage plan. The Project proposes to significantly reduce infiltration of stormwater into the cement kiln dust material at CKD-3 site, significantly reduce potential leaching of CKD material into nearby groundwater and surface waters, effectively manage potentially impacted groundwater, consolidate CKD material at the CKD-3 site under low-permeability cover, and close CKD-3 in compliance with WDR Order No. R5-2017-0077-01 and Title 27 requirements.
