Document Description
Conduct geotechnical investigations at nine (9) sites chosen as part of the water treatment system improvements at MacKerricher State Park to identify soil conditions and guide project work. At each of the nine (9) boring sites work will: • Use a 3-inch auger on a truck mounted drill rig to core drill to a depth of between 10-15 feet; • Observe existing site conditions and record the soil conditions; and • Backfill all excavation with soil cuttings and spread excess soil cuttings in adjacent undeveloped areas. Additionally, at East and West Pinewood comfort stations-work will complete two (2) additional shallow borings for the purpose of conducting percolation tests. Work will not adversely affect natural or cultural resources.

Project consists of minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees, and consist of basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource, and is listed as "soils and engineering tests" and "Percolation tests" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4.
