Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is eligible for a Class 1 and Class 2 Categorical Exemption per Section 15301 and Section 15302 of the State CEQA Guidelines as it involves a minor alteration of existing facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use and reconstruction of an existing structure located on the same site and with substantially the same purpose. The project site is located in an urbanized setting and is developed as an apartment complex. The existing use-medium density multi-family development-is principally permitted in the RM-2 Zoning District. The project is in an area where all public services and facilities are available to allow for maximum development permissible in the General Plan and the area in which the project is located is not environmentally sensitive.
