Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed
Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number PLA-50236-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Placer County – Department of Public Works. The project is limited to foothill yellow-legged frog (Rana boylii; northern Sierra clade) habitat enhancement activities on approximately 41-acres (2.8 miles) of Upper Shirttail Creek to provide compensatory mitigation for impacts associated with the Yankee Jims Bridge Replacement Project (California Endangered Species Act Incidental Take Permit No. 2081-2021-076-02). The project will result in the reduction of 3-10 acres of vegetation within the 41-acre project area. Vegetation removal will focus on upland tree species and ponderosa pines 10-inch diameter at breast height or less that are located within 20-100 feet of Upper Shirttail Creek with 80% canopy cover or greater. Vegetation removal will be limited to 100 linear ft reaches of stream, with 200 linear ft segment breaks incorporated between treatment reaches to create a mosaic of microhabitats along the stream.
