Document Description
The project consists of full depth reclamation (FDR) where the old asphalt and base
materials will be pulverized and mixed with a stabilizing material, and recompacted, to
make new base for the new asphalt surface. The road will be 8 inches FDR with 4.5
inches of AC. The road reconstruction will be limited to the existing road width.
Drainage will be improved by repairing existing dikes, shoulder regrading and the
installation of a French Drain in an area which has experience localized failure during
storm events. Following the road repairs, the road lanes will be striped with waterborne retro-reflective paint. The project is to maintain an existing County road facility.

Reasons for Exemption
After reviewing the project and its setting, the Environmental Coordinator for the County of Tuolumne has determined that the road repair on Tuolumne Road North is categorically exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), pursuant to Section 15301 of the State CEQA Guidelines. The project includes the repair and maintenance of an existing roadway and involves no expansion of the existing use. None of the exceptions to the categorical exemptions provided in Section 15300.2 of the State CEQA Guidelines apply to the proposed project.
