Document Description
The project proposes to make several interior improvements including removing and replacing existing finishes and accessories in restrooms, removing and replacing various walls and doors, removing and replacing existing computer equipment and hardware, upgrading the HVAC and associated electrical components, and updating existing furniture, finishes and fixtures. Additionally, in the parking area, a new accessible parking space with detectable warning at pathway will be installed.

Reasons for Exemption
This project consists of renovating existing office space within an command center complex. CCR Section 15301, Class 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination. Field review by CAL FIRE staff confirmed that no exceptions apply that would preclude the use of a notice of exemption for this project. The Department has concluded that no significant environmental impact would occur to aesthetics, agriculture and forestland or timberland, air quality, biological resources, cultural resources, geology and soils, greenhouse gas emissions, hazards and hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, land use planning, mineral resources, noise, population and housing, public services, recreation, transportation or traffic, or to utilities and service systems. Documentation of the environmental review completed by the Department is kept on file at the Perris Emergency Command Center in Riverside County at 210 West San Jacinto Avenue, California, 92570.
