Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-ORA-18713-R5), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant, California Department of Transportation. The Project will result in impacts including temporary impacts to 1.73 acres of unvegetated streambed and permanent impacts to 0.14 acre of unvegetated streambed. The proposed project includes widening SR-133 between Interstates 5 and 405. The Streambed Alteration Agreement covers widening of the SR-133 off-ramp bridge over San Diego Creek, replacing approximately 520 feet of reinforced concrete channel with a reinforced concrete box between Barranca Parkway and Alton Parkway, and converting a portion of existing trapezoid channel to a reinforced concrete box and culvert at the Barranca Parkway loop ramp. As part of the bridge widening, passage for southern California steelhead will be provided by constructing a low-flow channel between bridge piers 4 and 5. The construction will involve installing engineered streambed materials from the upstream right-of-way, bank to bank, and graded to direct flows into the low-flow channel.
