Document Description
CDFA Plant Health Division proposes to continue statewide monitoring, detection, and eradication activities in order to eradicate infestations of the hydrilla plant (Hydrilla verticillata). Hydrilla has the potential to be detected in any waterway in the State. Once introduced, hydrilla rapidly reproduces and depletes all of the dissolved oxygen in a waterbody, choking out all other vegetation and wildlife. Under the proposed project, CDFA would have the ability to rapidly respond and treat infestations in order to achieve eradication.
