Document Description
The project proposes to remove and/or repair sections of split rail fencing in Big Basin Redwoods State Park to reduce recurring maintenance costs and to beautify the park. The fencing serves to delinate trails from roadways, protect natural resources, and identify/exclude unsafe terrain. Work will use the salvaged materials from the removed section of fencing to repair or replace the remaining fence sections.

The Project consists of the repair, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public or private structures or facilities, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels, included as "Building (non-historic) or fence repairs" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4; the replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; and minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
