Document Description
This ladder fuels reduction project wi ll serve to benefit the residents of Cliffwood Estates Mobile Home Park and surrounding communities by clearing decades of accumulated downed material and understory vegetation in an adjacent eucalyptus grove that is highly vulnerable to crown fire. The project will remove juvenile eucalyptus (8" DBH and less) and understory brush, stump treat cut eucalyptus, prune branches to a height of 8 to 10', and remove large accumulations of downed woody material (up to approximately 8" in diameter). All of the cut material will be chipped and spread within the project footprint (2 .6 acres). Name of Public Agency Approving Project: Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County (RCDSCC)

This project is categorically exempt pursuant to Sec. 15304 Minor Alterations to Land for the following reasons: No healthy, mature, or Scenic trees will be removed, no take of endangered, are, or threatened plant or animal species will occur, and there will be no significant impacts to surface waters. For the reasons stated above, this project shall be exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
