Document Description
The project is new construction of a temporary homeless shelter that will operate for up to 3 years and will provide emergency shelter, hygiene, storage, food services and case management to individuals experiencing homelessness. The nature of this project is to serve the local homeless community within the vicinity of the project. The purpose of the project is to provide emergency shelter for the homeless to help bridge their transition from living on the streets to finding services and, ultimately, living in transitional and/or permanent housing. The site property is located in the Van Nuys - North Sherman Oaks Community Plan Area in the Van Nuys community in the City of Los Angeles Council District 6 (CD 6), portion of 14333 West Aetna Street, Van Nuys, CA 91401 , Assessor Parcel Number (APN) 2240-008-903 (portion of), see Figure 1 - Project Site Location and Figure 2 - Assessor Parcel Map. The site is currently developed as a public parking lot that serves the Orange Line Busway system at its nearby Orange Line Van Nuys Station. See Attachment For Full Details.
