Document Description
Surveys of the California Aqueduct will be conducted to determine the extent and nature of existing damage and inform repair designs. Department personnel will conduct field surveys using a laser scanning device (terrestrial LiDAR), and bathymetric surveys in the canal using an unmanned remote operated boat. Laser scanning devices will be set up on tripods at several locations along the Aqueduct. A trailer truck will be used to transport the boat to and from the site. A hoist on the vehicle will be used to place the boat into the canal and retrieve the boat when bathymetric surveys are complete.
