Document Description
DWR shall have a Contractor replace an electrical substation unit at SLFD. Secondary generators will be used by DWR during the duration of the project for electricity. The new unit shall fit on the existing concrete pad. New components will be trucked to location and stored onsite. A forklift or mobile crane will be used to move large components. A formed plastic diamond plate pedestrian ramp will be placed over conduit crossing the existing pad. Any necessary cuttings shall be disposed onsite in refuse containers. All work is within DWR right of way.

The State Water Project provides significant and important services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves replacement of an existing end-of-service substation and will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. The Categorical Exemption Class 2 (b) will be used for CEQA compliance since this activity can be implemented without any serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource.
