Document Description
The project is limited to one encroachment associated with an existing water diversion from the Mattole River (offset well). Water will be diverted at a rate not to exceed 400 gallons per minute (gpms) from January 1 through December 31 of each year. Water will be used for dust control, fire suppression, and road construction. This Agreement does not cover water diverted for use for any purposes. This Agreement does not retroactively permit any crossings, diversion, or other encroachments not described in the Notification.

Reasons for Exemption
Activities will be conducted in a manner to protect water quality and free flowing conditions in the Mattole River. No mature or scenic trees will be removed. There would be no significant adverse impact on endangered, threatened, or rare species or their habitat pursuant to §15065. There are no hazardous materials at or around the project site that may be disturbed or removed . The project will not result in impacts that are significant when viewed in connection with the effects of past projects, the effects of other current projects, and the effects of probable future projects.
