Document Description
This is a temporary and removable graphic vinyl wrap installed on one entire wall inside the restored Jimmy's bar within the historic footprint of the Presidio. It depicts a crowded interior with mixed nationalities enjoying this popular hangout with Jimmy at the bar during the peak Chinese-American era in Santa Barbara in the 1940's. After the Presidio was bisected for the development of the city many commercial ventures erected within the historic footprint. Jimmy's was among them and would have been in the center of the Parade Grounds during the Presidio era beginning in 1782. Interpreting this Chinese- American era is a mandate of the park unit's Interpretive Plan. The measures included may be acquired by contacting the project contact listed below.
