Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2019-0291-R3, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Purissima Hills Water District.
The project includes repair of the creek bank. There will be excavation of 4.4 cubic yards of creek bed at the toe of the bank slope and placement of 3.4 cubic yards of excavated soil on the lower creek bank. There will be 160 square feet of rip rap placed within the creek bed and lower creek bank. After rip rap placement, the remaining 1 cubic yard of excavated material will be placed with in the creek bed at the toe of the bank slope over the rip rap. Within the upper creek bank, 125 square feet of Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) bank stabilization materials will be installed. MSE materials include soil-filled bags that will be stacked along the creek bank, with interlocking components to connect the bags together. Species such as dogwood (Camus sericea) and arroyo willow (Salix lasiolepis) cuttings will be layered between the bags. Erosion control seed mix, including species such as mugwort (Artemisia douglasiana), blue wildrye (Elymus glaucus), and California fescue (Festuca californica), will be incorporated into the bags with the soil and/or seeded over the exterior of the bags after installation.
