Document Description
Replace the current roof and conduct limited seismic stabilization work to protect the museum building at State Indian Museum State Historic Park. The project will: • Remove and dispose of the existing wood shake, wooden spacers, mineral cap sheet, tar paper, flashing, gutters and downspouts; • Temporarily remove historic skip sheathing; • Drill through the wooden blocking at the tops of the exterior walls and into the existing concrete wall and use epoxy to install seismically engineered metal anchors at 24" O.C. intervals; • At the east gable. end wall, in four (4) locations, install new wood bracing and metal , connecting hardware and bolt into existing log purlins; • Reinstall historic skip sheathing arid ·attach 1 /2" plywood sheathing as a diaphragm over the entire roof system; and • Install a new shake roof system that includes 2 wood sleepers, mineral cap sheet, tar paper, flashing, gutters, down spouts and shake roofing.
