The Project consists of conducting 57 overwater soil borings using a rotary drill rig mounted on a barge or drill ship. Drilling consists of extending 6- to 8-inch diameter conductor casings from the barge to the bottom of the stream channel, sealing the work area from flowing water, and will remain in place until the bore hole is complete and has been filled in. Water will be circulated through pumps and conductor casing while drilling and sampling.
