A total of 17 piezometers are scheduled to be installed throughout the Oroville Dam Complex in order to continuously monitor and measure pore pressures and groundwater within various areas of the Dam. These piezometers will enhance structural analyses and modeling capabilities to better inform future improvements.

The State Water Project provides significant and important services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves basic data collection for a resource evaluation. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat, cultural resources, or any other resource areas. As such, the Categorical Exemption Class 6 will be used for CEQA compliance.
