Document Description
The City of Shafter is proposing to renovate the existing Veterans Park, located at 701 South Schnaidt Street, with Proposition 68 Grant funds. The proposed renovations include the installation of multi-purpose sports field lighting, enhancements and expansions of the existing playground areas, construction of two recreational courts with fencing, lighting and upgrades to the existing jogging and walking path, restroom upgrades, and new drinking fountain plus bottle filling station. Veterans Park currently contains two existing fuil length soccer fields with no lighting, football game and practice fields with lighting, a sports field equipment building, covered picnic areas, splash pad, restrooms, and Veterans Memorial monument.
