Document Description
The project is the 2019 mid-cycle update to 5th cycle General Plan Housing Element. State Housing Element Law (Government Code Section 65580 (et seq.)) requires local governments to plan for the existing and projected housing needs of all economic segments of the community. The City of Visalia adopted its 5th Cycle Housing Element in 2016, which serves an eight-year planning period from December 31, 2015 to December 31, 2023. The 2019 Update is a comprehensive review and select update of the 5th Cycle Housing Element background information and goals, policies, and programs. The mid-cycle update will serve a four-year planning period from December 31, 2019 to December 31, 2023.
