- The project includes demolition and offshore remediation of the Lockheed Martin Marine Terminal Facilities. The San Diego RWQCB issued a Cleanup and Abatement Order to Lockheed Martin Corporation due to pollutant wastes that were discharged into San Diego Bay. The project is separated into three phases. Phase 1 includes landside demolition of the Lockheed Martin marine terminal building and associated structures. Phase 2 includes waterside demolition of the pier and marine railway structure, dredging of the offshore sediments, and placement of clean sand cover. Phase 3 activities include removal of asphalt and concrete paving areas, grading of the site, and planting of drought-tolerant vegetation to return the site to its original undeveloped state.
