Document Description
The project includes demolition and offshore remediation of the Lockheed Martin Marine Terminal Facilities. The San Diego RWQCB issued a Cleanup and Abatement Order to Lockheed Martin Corporation due to pollutant wastes that were discharged into San Diego Bay. The project is separated into three phases. Phase 1 includes landside demolition of the Lockheed Martin marine terminal building and associated structures. Phase 2 includes waterside demolition of the pier and marine railway structure, dredging of the offshore sediments, and placement of clean sand cover. Phase 3 activities would occur landside and would return the site to its original undeveloped state. Activities include removal of asphalt and concrete paving areas, grading of the site, and planting of drought-tolerant vegetation.
