Document Description
A Draft EIR, dated June 4, 2020, (original Draft EIR) was prepared for the 2040 General Plan, and was circulated for public review between June 4, 2020 and August 5, 2020. The city held several public meetings during the review period and received four comment letters on the original Draft EIR and Draft General Plan. In response to the public review process, the city has added and/or modified General Plan policies where needed. In light of the additions and revisions to General Plan policies and to provide additional information and detail in response to comments received on the original Draft EIR, the city has determined that the preparation of a revised environmental analysis was warranted. The recirculated Revised Draft EIR incorporates the modified and additional policies and includes more extensive analysis into the text. The City of Sausalito's comprehensive General Plan was initially prepared in 1995. Since 1995, the Circulation and Parking Element was updated in 1999, the Housing Element was updated in 2012 and 2015, and the Health and Safety Element was updated in 2019. As part of the update process, the objectives, policies, and programs of the Marinship Specific Plan have been incorporated into the Land Use and Growth Management, Waterfront, Community Design, Historic and Cultural Preservation, Circulation and Parking, Health, Safety, and Community Resilience, Sustainability, and Economic Elements.
