Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed the Yuba River
Resilience Initiative Agreement with Yuba County Water Agency (YCWA), which includes a Nature-Like Fishway
and other improvements to fish passage on the lower Yuba River at Daguerre Point Dam.
The Nature-Like Fishway includes construction of a nature-like channel, relocation of the existing South Canal
Diversion at Daguerre Point, replacement of the existing permeable rockfill fish exclusion structure with a
modernized fish screen, filling of the existing South Canal Diversion head pond to create a sloping floodplain
restoration area along the shoreline on the south bank of the river, construction and improvement of access roads,
and operations and maintenance activities. CDFW has executed the Agreement but has not received any
applications for regulatory authorizations for the Nature-Like Fishway, and by its execution of the Agreement does
not take any steps to provide discretionary approval for the Nature-Like Fishway or project activities pursuant to its
regulatory permitting programs.
