The 82-acre Project aims to restore and enhance the Yuba River off-channel and riparian ecosystem processes that are critical for juvenile California Central Valley (CCV) steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss), California Central Valley (CV) Chinook salmon (O. tshawytscha), and other native fish. The restoration design consists of a variety of habitat features including creation of alcoves to enhance rearing habitat for juvenile salmonids, enhancement of the existing flood runner to increase connectivity across the bar to match historic river patterns, and edge habitat enhancement adjacent to primary feeding lanes.
