Document Description
The project will be creating 1,510 linear feet of new perennially inundated side channel from the north-east end of the island to the south of the island, outflowing into the Sacramento River mainstem; creating a side channel sequence of pools and riffles; placing boulders and habitat wood material, sourced on-site, in the banks of the new channel; and by placing large diameter spoils adjacent to the side channel inlet to increase the volume and elevation of flows through the side channel relevant for juvenile salmonid habitat; and placing spawning gravel, sorted from excavated sediment, in the river to provide spawning habitat for adult salmonids.
