Document Description
The Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency – Valencia Division (hereinafter
Valencia Division) proposed Project includes the N-Wellfield PFAS IX Treatment Facility and the Baseball
Field Disinfection Facility at the location described above. The Valencia Division will utilize ion exchange
treatment to remove per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from the raw water of Wells N, N-7, and N-8 at
the N-Wellfield PFAS IX Treatment Facility. Wells N, N-7, and N-8 have a combined capacity of 6,250 gpm.
The effluent from the IX vessels will then receive chloramination treatment at the Baseball Field Disinfection
Facility. The N-Wellfield PFAS IX Treatment Facility includes three disposable cartridge filters, three treatment
trains (six ion exchange vessels total, with two vessels operated in lead and lag configuration for each
treatment train), face piping, and piping module with support skid. The treatment system can treat up to 6,250
gpm. The Baseball Field Disinfection Facility includes a sodium hypochlorite generation and chemical feed
system, and a liquid ammonium sulfate storage and feed system. Both treatment facilities are equipped the
associated electrical equipment, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, and water quality
measuring equipment.

None of the exceptions listed in Section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines would apply to the proposed actions.

This Project also qualifies for an exemption under Class 3 New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures because the project construction is
