Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed
Alteration Agreement number 1600-2019-0200-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Nancy and Mitch Karadanis. The project is limited to the reconstruction of approximately 50 linear feet of lakeside property. Existing boulders were placed lakeside and within the high-water mark of Donner lake in the 1992 residence construction. Those boulders will be used to create a terrace design which includes two stacked boulder walls, each no more than 3 feet in height, at a 1 :1 slope. The largest of boulders will be placed at the toe of each wall. The project involves only limited excavation less than 10 inches deep and approximately . 75 cubic yards. The 125 sq. ft terraced sitting area will be back filled with clean decomposed granite sand on top of the existing boulders at an elevation of 5942.6'+, situated above the 100-year flood plain. The top of the upper stacked rock wall will be smoothed at a 2:1 finished slope. In addition to the stone paver steps, a set of five stairs with durable wood tread will be added from the existing stair landing approach to the existing pier to the new terraced area and anchored at its base with two small pre-cast footings.
