Reasons for Exemption
The project involves demolition and construction efforts to renovate the existing varsity and junior varsity softball and baseball fields, as well as parking lot improvements. Field renovations include new turf, bleachers, dugouts, pavement, fencing and 60-foot netting. No expansion of existing school capacity or changes in facility use would occur; therefore, the project is exempt from CEQA under Section 15302 and 15303. The proposed project was also reviewed for possible exceptions under Section 15300.2 and found that the exceptions do not apply.
