Reasons for Exemption
This project involves the removal of dead, dying, diseased, insect infested and suppressed trees for public health and safety purposes, and contains a secondary benefit of reducing forest fuels for forestry and fire hazard reduction purposes. This project includes maintenance and minor alterations to land. The use of heavy machinery will be restricted to either the running paved surface of the road or non-riparian areas outside of stream environment zones (SEZ). Work within SEZ areas are to be completed by hand crews.
