Document Description
lntermountain REC will conduct a carcass composting research project within the developed area of the research extension center. The project will improve an existing three-sided structure (approx. 800 SF) to add a concrete floor and roof. The duration of the research project is approximately two years. Less than five carcasses per year will be composted. The project composting protocol includes minimizing odors, and prevention and monitoring for leakage. Prior experience indicates that similar compost piles produce no detectable odors.
