Reasons for Exemption
The State Water Project provides significant and important services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves replacement of an existing out-of-service water treatment plant for the occupied pumping plant without major disturbance to an environmental resource. Because this activity can be implemented without environmental impacts, the Categorical Exemption Class 2 will be used for CEQA compliance.
