Document Description
The City of Hemet will replace Well 10, a 696-gpm well, with Well 10A, a 650-gpm
well, on an existing -6,000 ft^2 well property. The well, 1 50-HP pump, and motor will be installed on a 36 ft^2 pad. The well will be connected to the rest of the system with approximately 25 feet of 8-inch diameter piping. A sodium chloride disinfection system will be installed on a new 100 ft^2 concrete pad. A shade structure with an 8-foot roof will be added to the pad. A less than 20-foot chlorination line, 1/4-inch in diameter, will be connected from the tank to the injection port. A 1 0-foot long 8-inch diameter discharge line will also be installed from the well and connect with existing storm water discharge piping. Electrical lines and a flow meter will be installed. The Project will provide for the operation of the system.

Reasons for Exemption
The Project consists of Class 1, additions to existing publicly owned utilities
provided the additions will not result in an increase of more than 10,000 square feet, (15301 (e)). Well 10A as a replacement of Well 10 consists of Class 2, replacement of existing utilities involving negligible expansion of use, (Section 15302, >10% increase). The disinfection system and roof consists of Class 3, small new equipment and structures not involving use of significant amount of hazardous substances and not exceeding 2,500 feet^2 consists of Class 3, utility extensions to serve such construction, 615303 (d) >1 mile in length, >16-in. diameter). The flow meter consists of Class 3, accessory structures, (15303 (e)).
