Document Description
The District drilled Well 1A, a 1,500 gallon per minute, 170-foot deep well, to replace Well 17, a 1,600-gallon per minute, 193-foot deep well. The well and motor were installed on a 20.2 foot pad. Twenty feet of 12- inch diameter piping was installed to connect the well to the rest of the system and for discharge. One hundred fifty feet of chain link fencing was also installed. An existing chlorination: system at the Laverne Mahnky Water Treatment Facility will be used to chlorinate the well water. The Project will provide for the operation of the system.

See NOE for full details. The replacement of Well 17 with Well 1A is Class 2, replacement of existing utility systems involving negligible expansion of capacity, (15302 (c), <10%). The well pad, motor, and piping can be considered Class 1, minor alteration to existing public structures, (15301 (b & e), <2,500 ft2). The use of the exiting chlorination system is Class 1, the operation of existing facilities used to provide public utility services, (15301 (b)). The well pad and motor can also be considered Class 3, the construction of a limited·number of new equipment and structures (15303 (c), <2,500 ft.2). The piping also can be considered Class 3, water mains of reasonable length to serve such construction, (15303 (d), <16-in. diameter, <1 mile in length).
