The project is limited to removing non-native trees and native and non-native riparian shrubbery, brush, grasses, and low hanging branches within ten feet of the ground in order to create a 100-foot fire break around the parcel. Targeted vegetation will be removed using an excavator-mounted masticator/forestry mulcher, gas powered pole saws and chainsaws. Trimmed limbs and brush that are not shredded in their place of origin will be yarded out using the excavator boom.
