Document Description
Restore the waterwheel, and repair the flume structure and exterior siding (wheel side) at the Bale Grist Mill in Bale Grist State Historic Park to restore the function of the wheel and prevent future water damage to the Mill building. Work will repair, restore or replace all compromised redwood components of the Mill's waterwheel. Future proposed work will replace in-kind, as needed, sections of the flume and flume structure and replace siding on the Mill that is damaged due to exposure to large amounts of water. Completed in phases, all work will be done under the supervision of a trained Millwright and will be completed in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
