Reasons for Exemption
Class 4 Exemption (CEQA Guidelines § 15304): The Campus Greening Project involves minor alteration to the condition of land, water and/or vegetation on public property. The proposed project does not involve the removal of any mature, scenic trees or alterations to any land classified as a waterway, wetland, scenic area or severe geologic hazard. Class 14 Exemption (CEQA Guidelines§ 15314): The Campus Greening Project's landscaping features are a minor addition to an existing school, within existing school grounds. These additions have no impact on student capacity. • Class 1 Exemption (CEQA Guidelines§ 15301): The Campus Greening Project's landscaping features are a minor alteration to existing public structures. There will be no expansion of the existing use of the facility. • Class 2 Exemption (CEQA Guidelines § 15302): In addition, it can be seen with certainty that the proposed Campus Greening Project will not have a significant effect on the environment. The purpose of the proposed project is to increase shade and slow stormwater runoff, decreasing the environmental impacts of the existing campus.
