Document Description
The project is limited to two encroachments including a water drafting site (W1) along a Class II tributary to Patterson Creek and a temporary vented ford crossing (RP#1) on a Class Ill watercourse. Both encroachments are existing, and use would ensure upgrades and maintenance. W1: Water drafting location on a Class II tributary Patterson Creek approximately ¼ mile from Wallow Salvage EM boundary. Drafting shall occur from existing rocked road surface. Watercourse shall not be de-watered. Drip pans or absorbent pads shall be on site and available and used as necessary to prevent petroleum-based products originating from vehicles from reaching surface water, groundwater, and soil. RP#1: Temporary vented ford crossing along a Class Ill watercourse. A 10" diameter or larger pipe shall be utilized. The crossing shall be rocked to provide a stable operating surface. Crossing shall be removed prior to winter period. Water breaks shall be installed approximately 25' from crossing and all hydrologically connected road surface shall be stabilized with slash or straw. Coverage for slash treatment shall be 70% or greater. Coverage for straw mulch shall be 90% or greater.

Reasons for Exemption
The project proposes two encroachments at existing locations and are considered upgrades. There would be no significant adverse impact on endangered, rare or threatened species or their habitat pursuant to section 15065. There are no hazardous materials at or around the project site that may be disturbed or removed. The project will not result in impacts that are significant when viewed in connection with the effects of past projects, the effects of other current projects, and the effects of probable future projects.
