Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-CCA-45619-R3), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to project Applicant East Bay Municipal Utility District, as represented by Chien Wang.
The project will consist of demolition of existing maintenance buildings and construction of a new municipal water supply disinfection facility comprised of a new above-ground two-story Maintenance and Ultraviolet Electrical (MAUVE) building, a below-grade UV (Ultra Violet) structure and below-grade Chlorine Contact Basin (CCB), two electrical buildings, a standby generator, pipelines and vaults, and other supporting infrastructure. Construction of the project is expected to occur over a 5-year period. Once demolition is complete, further site preparation activities will include grading; mowing, trimming and/or removal of vegetation including trees; placement of gravel ground cover and fencing; placement of construction trailers and temporary access roads and five staging areas. Approximately 97 trees have been or will be removed to accommodate project construction. Additional trees adjacent to Project areas or staging may be limbed or modified to accommodate construction. Approximately 75,000 cubic yards (CY) of spoils will be generated as a result of project activities. All excavated spoils will be hauled offsite and legally disposed of.
