Document Description
The California Department of Transportation, using state funds, is proposing an overlay project on State Route 89 between post-miles 7.0 and 14.0 in Siskiyou county. This project is needed because the pavement is in poor condition and exhibits a rough ride. Simple preventative maintenance measures are no longer adequate as a cost-effective strategy. The purpose of the project is to reduce the amount of distressed lane-miles by restoring the roadway to a state where minimal maintenance
is required, the ride quality is improved, and the service life of the existing highway will be extended.
