Document Description
The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) is a Responsible Agency for the Project. The State Water Board is funding the Project referred to internally as Syphon Reservoir Improvement Project. The Project includes the replacement of the existing 59 feet (ft) high dam with a new 136 ft high embankment dam, increasing the capacity of the recycled water reservoir from 500 acre-ft to 5,000 acre-ft. The elevation of the dam crest would increase from 388 ft above mean sea level to 466 ft above mean sea level. Additional facilities would include construction of a seepage control drainage system, circulation system, inlet/outlet facilities, spillway, onsite access and maintenance roads, wetland and riparian mitigation areas, and potential recreational facilities. The existing strainer and disinfection facilities would be demolished, reconstructed, and expanded at the toe of the new dam.
