The project will enhance 0.6 miles of Lake Tahoe Boulevard from State Highway 50 to Viking Way. The roadway will be redesigned to create alternative, safe, non-vehicular transportation between the South Tahoe High School and the South Wye. Improvements include a shared-use path with an exclusive right-of-way for bicyclists and pedestrians as well as streetscape improvements such as hardscape, landscape, and pedestrian lighting. The project implements Environmental Improvement Project (EIP) 03.01.02.0094, which contributes towards attainment of air quality, recreation, scenic resources, water quality, air quality, and transportation TRPA environmental threshold carrying capacities. The project is located on Lake Tahoe Boulevard between intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 89 (The “Y”), and Viking Way, in an area identified as the Tahoe Valley area within the City of South Lake Tahoe, El Dorado County.
